Donkey Of The Day For Wednesday, March 16th goes to Gary Road Elementary School in Byram Mississippi and the Hinds County School District for firing a teacher named Toby Price who was also the assistant principal at the school. Now while its 2022 Uncle Charlamagne really doesn't know what is and isn't publicly acceptable anymore, some of these things which are created for a certain "time and place" are still sparking some type of outrage.
The teacher who read a book called "I Need a New Butt!" was fired despite having read the book at a plethora of other schools and never had faced any backlash before. Since then teachers, authors, and librarians have reached out to the school district superintendent asking for the teacher to be reinstated. The book itself is ranked 34th on Amazon's "top 100 in Books" with a reading age for 6 to 10-year-olds.
