Earlier this month sexual assault allegations against Charlamagne Tha God resurfaced from 2001 in the case of now 32-year-old Jessica Reid. While the internet started taking the story and pulling it in multiple different ways it turned out that the case was settled in court 17 years ago with Charlamagne pleading guilty to a lesser charge of contributing to delinquency of a minor along with three years of probation. While in court Charlamagne had always cooperated with police taking a DNA test as well, which also produced no evidence that he sexually assaulted anybody. In a quote to TMZ from Charlamagnes lawyers Marty Singer and Michael Weinsten they said:
"More than seventeen years ago, Charlamagne was accused of a sexual assault. He never had sexual relations or any physical contact with the accuser and even provided DNA to prove it."
"Charlamagne has spoken about this many times over the years in public, including in his book. While Charlamagne has empathy for all sexual assault victims, he cannot take responsibility for a crime he did not commit.”
Now while that situation was clearly settled there was another headline that popped up online saying "Charlamagne Admits First Sexual Experience With His Wife Was Rape". Speaking on the clips used from his podcast in the article he said "That Stemmed from a conversation I was having on my podcast about rape culture, but I remember teen vogue had a headline saying is drunk sex considered rape? So my wife and I were having a conversation about it because the first time we had sex we were super super young and super drunk". Now the clip, of course, didn't tell the whole story because it was cut down so to get to the bottom of this DJ Envy called up Charlamagne's wife to talk about the first time they had sex. On the phone she spoke about how Charlamagne sucks at telling stories recounting that night saying, "I was not passed out I was very coherent enough so I could lift up my hips and you could take my panties off, we had sex the next morning and that night was the night we had our first kiss".
Before signing off with his wife Charlamagne had to say this: "I don't know while yall be acting like my wife don't want the smoke, that's the one who runs the household"
