Charlamagne Tha God awards director Roman Polanski Donkey Of The Day for Thursday, May 10th. Polanski, who has directed films like Chinatown, Rosemary's Baby, and The Pianist, has been a fugitive from the United States after he fled the country while awaiting sentencing for statutory rape charges. The French-Polish director allegedly drugged and raped a 13-year-old girl when he was 44 years old.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has decided to dismiss the 84-year-old director from their organization. Roman is getting Donkey Of The Day because he has threatened to sue them. He also gave his thoughts on the #MeToo movement, calling it “collective hysteria” and “total hypocrisy.”
Why is Roman being so loud when he is a fugitive whose rich, white privilege has allowed him to both be a fugitive of the USA and an Oscar-winning director?
