Today on The Breakfast Club we were joined by actor Sinqua Walls who's new movie "Resort To Love" just dropped and became the number 1 movie on Netflix in the United States.
Sitting down with the show today the actor opened up about how his mother played a big role in him being comfortable in his own skin, explaining that as he got older he noticed certain things in society and is grateful for the things his mother instilled in him at an early age.
"My mom always made me comfortable in my own skin I think unfortunately at some times in the black community you have some people who deal with colorism and there's the idea that some complexions that are more favorable and some that are not, but my mom was always emphatic about the fact that you are enough, you are strong, you are intelligent, you are beautiful, you are handsome, all of these things I didn't realize were lessons I was getting at the time because I would hear it and I wouldn't really ingest it and as I got older I was able to see the things I was encountering in society, I was so glad I had that foundation instilled in me"
