A 911 call reported Clark was breaking car windows with a crowbar in the neighborhood. After the police approached him, he ran and cut through backyards until he returned to his grandparent's home. A helicopter directed the officers to Clark's location and when they confronted him, they asked that he put his hands up. Clark reached for his cellphone and was lit up by 20 bullets.
After unloading their weapons, the police took their time checking on his condition and calling for medical assistance. He was pronounced dead at the scene and no weapons were found.
