Ty Dolla $ign makes his triumphant return with his brand-new album.

On Friday, October 17, the multihyphenated artist delivered his fourth studio LP TYCOON via Atlantic Records. The album's title stems from the Japanese word "taikun," which translates to "Great Lord."

"This is for all the people out there that are working somewhere, maybe a clothing store, whatever you're doing," Ty tells iHeartRadio. "But you feel like you way bigger than that. You just got to go for that, and that's what I did. My first job was at Subway. I worked there for one day, and I never came back. Now I'm here."

Ty Dolla $ign's new project comes with x fresh tracks, including new collaborations with Travis Scott, Leon Thomas, Rich The Kid, Tyga, Tory Lanez, Kodak Black, and YG. 'Yak and YG appear on his previously released single "SMILE BODY PRETTY FACE," which is one of two collaborations he made with the Florida rapper. Ty originally planned to have another song with Kodak on his album, but there was a change of plans that worked out for both artists.

"I had this song on my album with Kodak and two weeks ago he was like, 'Yo, I really want to use this one on my album, bro,'" he explained. "I was like, 'I was making this for my album and wanted you to get on it, but I'm going to give you another one.' I was pissed the f**k off. I'm not going to lie. But Kodak definitely blessed back and came with this other song, which was 'SMILE BODY PRETTY FACE.' He just had the hook, and I finished the song. As soon as I did my parts, I called YG. We ended up touching the beat as well, but even the original beat alone had that West Coast bop. It just felt like the new me and YG. So I'm glad me, Kodak, and YG all got to get on a song together."

Ty's album also includes his latest collaboration with Tory Lanez, "SHOW ME LOVE." The California native released the track a week before his album dropped. Ty and Tory have collaborated on several songs in the past, but it's the first track they've worked on since the "Say It" singer was sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020. Despite everything the Canadian crooner has been through, Ty said he was glad he was able to get Tory on his new album.

"It was amazing to be able to get Tory on the album," he says. "Everybody knows his situation right now, but as you guys know, one thing about me. I never turn my back on my brothers. So shout out to him and may he get through this."
