Post Malone and Swae Lee have done what only a few artists have been able to achieve.

On Monday, November 14, Mercury Records and Republic Records confirmed that Posty and Swae's collaborative hit "Sunflower" sold enough copies to make it "the highest-certified single in RIAA history." The single, which appears on the soundtrack for the 2018 film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, went 17x platinum this month. The last artist to achieve this feat was Lil Nas X, who's "Old Town Road" (Remix) featuring Billy Ray Cyrus hit the historic mark in 2021 after going 14x platinum. That song has sold 16 million copies so far.

"Sunflower" isn't the only song from Post's catalog that's being recognized. In addition to the success from their song produced by Carter Lang and Louis Bell, Post Malone's first major hit "White Iverson" and his 2018 banger with Ty Dolla $ign "Psycho" have also reached diamond status. His collaboration with Quavo "Congratulations" is now 14x platinum.

This is just the cherry on top of a stellar year for Post Malone. The multi-platinum artist released his latest album Twelve Carat Toothache back in June. Right after he dropped the LP, Malone's family grew bigger after he welcomed his first daughter with his new fiancée. Since then, he's been traveling the country for the Twelve Carat Tour with Roddy Ricch. During his tour, Posty has been making fans' dreams come true every chance he got from assisting with gender reveals to officiating weddings.

Congratulations to Post Malone and Swae Lee for making history.
