Drake Wants Justin Timberlake & Usher To Battle On 'Verzuz'

Drake wants to see Justin Timberlake and Usher go head-to-head with their biggest hits.

During his appearance on ESPN2's Jalen & Jacoby, Verzuz co-creator Timbaland admitted that a battle between JT and Ursh has been heavily requested amongst fans, including Drizzy. "Yes, we know," Tim responded to co-host Jalen, who inquired about the potential pairing. "It's so funny, Drake hit me up too about it, too. He said, 'We gotta make that happen.' I'm like, ‘Soon to come. Soon to come.'"

Timbaland also shared his take on other potential Verzuz pairings, including Missy Elliott vs. Busta Rhymes. "It is, to me, the best party that could ever happen on Verzuz," he gushed during the interview. "It's just a matter of comfort zone of my sister wanting to celebrate with her brother and understanding that it's not competition. It's a party."

In fact, he's already ran the idea by Missy. "I've been working on that and talking to her but I think that would be an amazing Verzuz," he added.

Verzuz co-creator Swizz Beatz also chimed in on the concept of the digital showdowns and why it's so important. "We in a different day and age where we gotta show the youth how to celebrate, and it's an educational celebration," he explained. "A lot of the artists that may have their differences should think about this and make it more about themselves and make it more about the people."

Most recently, Verzuz celebrated a new viewership record on Instagram when over 6 million folks tuned in to see Ashanti and Keyshia Cole battle it out.
