Watch Metallica Pay Tribute To Alice In Chains With Cover Of 'Would?'

Metallica contributed an acoustic cover of Alice In Chains' 1992 hit "Would?" to an all-star live stream celebration of the famed Seattle heavy rock band.

Alice In Chains was given the Founders Award by the Seattle Museum of Pop Culture. To celebrate the honor, the museum called upon two dozen musical acts to pay tribute to one of the city's most influential bands.

The show kicked off with Alice In Chains itself, performing its 2009 song "Your Decision." Then the telecast bounced through an array of special guests like Duff McKagan and Shooter Jennings performing "Down in a Hole," Ann Wilson of Heart performing "Rooster," Nancy Wilson and Liv Warfield performing "Brother," Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins doing "Check My Brain" and many others.

Another special moment was when the surviving members of Soundgarden collaborated with Pearl Jam's Mike McCready, Tad Doyle and Meagan Grandall for a rendition of "Angry Chair."

Metallica's performance of one of AIC's earliest hits came towards the end of the broadcast. Band members James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo each recorded their parts separately in their respective homes. Though mostly an acoustic affair, Trujillo played electric bass throughout the track and Hammett added an electric guitar solo to the mix.
