Kenan Thompson Responds To Good Burger Sequel Rumors

Over the past few years, it seems like there's news about a beloved show or movie from the 90's and early aughts being revamped every day. Whether it's a complete reboot or a continuation of the show's original run, there's no denying that the Hollywood nostalgia is real. We've seen shows like Roseanne, Will and Grace, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, The X Files and Charmed either successfully brought back to life or are in the process of being rebooted.

One show, though, that hasn't gotten the 2018 revamp yet is Good Burger. That's not to say there aren't rumors about a potential Good Burger sequel - there definitely are and they're being fueled by one of its stars. Kel Mitchell has gone on the record in an interview with Buzzfeed saying that a Good Burger revival is closer than fans might think. "The conversations have started. There's something in the water, everything's coming back," Kel revealed. "It will definitely be awesome and there was a meeting! They're just working everything out contractually, so just keep your ears to the streets."

It makes sense that out of Good Burger's headliners - Kel and Kenan Thompson - Kel would be the one gunning for a sequel. Kenan has found more success in his adult life with a long, beloved run as a cast member on Saturday Night Live, so, he doesn't necessarily need to revisit a project from his childhood. Kenan stopped by The Breakfast Club on Tuesday and opened up about his relationship with Kel, as well as whether or not there's any truth to those Good Burger sequel rumors. His answer may surprise you.

When Charlamagne brought up Kel's comments about the potential Good Burger sequel, Kenan revealed he's not opposed to returning to his roots. "I mean, yeah, why not? If people want to see it and support it, then it's only a good thing," Kenan said. "It's not like it's going to hold me back. It's all love."

Angela Yee pointed out that he would probably have fun making a sequel and Kenan didn't hold back his fondness for Good Burger. "Heck yeah, that's my childhood as much as it is anybody else's. When [fans] run up to me and be like 'yo,man, that's my childhood,' I'm, like, yeah man, thank you. That was my childhood, as well." He went on to express his gratitude for those who still love Good Burger to this day, "because it's our blood, sweat, and tears out there and when you appreciate it, it's appreciated."

It's obvious that Kenan still has a lot of love for Kel and Good Burger, as well as other projects he worked on when he was younger. He shared some stories about the All That reunion on Wild 'N Out, as well. For more from Kenan Thompson, check out the full interview below.
